Iran’s president: Israel must be ‘wiped off the map’
Does anyone else find this upsetting? That the President of Iran has called for Israel to be “wiped off the map” and said that a new wave of attacks will take care of it? This is the group of people who’ve also labeled the U.S. as “The World of Arrogance” and named us sworn enemies, too.
Don’t like to get too political on here. Got enough of that crap in real life. But, Jesus, vowing to wipe an entire country of people off the map? AND there was a suicide bombing in Israel shortly after the announcement, where 5 people were killed and a couple dozen seriously injured. This is just gonna get much worse before it ever gets better.
*sigh*
For now, I guess I’m just gonna rehearse my play and play with my family.

It’s a vicious circle, Tony. I’m not pro or anti Israel or Iran for that fact. However, our president did call Iran part of the “Axis of Evil.” And sadly, I have a sister who has uttered the phrase more times than I’d care to admit that she wished we would just “nuke the entire middle east.” And really the Iranian president doesn’t want to wipe Israel off the map . . . it’s got the islamic holy lands there. He wants the many people, who are jewish, to die because he’s a big fucking bratty five year old boy with some serious artillery. It’s so fucking confusing and horrible. You should feel sad and depressed. I feel that way too. Just remember for years and years and years, they have continued to say shit like this back and forth to each other (and we don’t help the situation). It goes through quiet periods and then it gets louder. Let’s just hope for something good comes from all this rottenness. Seriously.
If only we could get them both in a room together and play foosh ball or air hockey.

Hi Annie. You’re right about the vicious circle part. Man.
I’m the last person to claim any true knowledge of the whole topic – I direct plays for a living, and focus my energy on that and my family, and a handful of hobbies. However, it does seem like lately the threats and back-n-forth stuff has gotten bigger and bigger, and based on Sept. 11 2001, and the whole “Axis of Evil” that you mentioned, the U.S. has gotten more and more people attention from the people who would like to see our way of life, or our lives, ended.
Air Hockey would be good, but I’m seriously thinking tape-ball. You know, the rehearsal warm up game with a ball of legal paper and tape? You just work as a team and bounce the ball in the air as many times as possible without letting it hit the ground. If we all did that, I think the world would be a happier place!
And when are we having coffee?!
I swear this world is getting more and more screwd up by the moment. Oh why can’t i have a time machine and jump ahead to when everyone either can deal with one another without wanting to nuke them, or everyone is already gone because we all blew ourselves up??? well, i’d be all alone with the second option…maybe i’ll pack a few good books in that time machine…
Oooh, a time machine. I’d like to go back and make a few World Series bets in Vegas, so if you go back a few years, let me know. I also want to invest in a couple of little startup companies, like MicroSoft, Apple, WalMart, Coca-Cola and McDonalds. Plus, I’d like to see Prince when he was just starting out.
These two factions of people will NEVER stop fighting. They HATE one another with more passion than you or I could ever muster. I have said it before, and I am saying it more and more, but WW III is going to be The World vs. the Muslims. For some reason, the book they go by must just scream hate.
Let me change that statement cause Derek is being a tool. The book they go by must make their narrow minds scream hate.

I just go by what I see on the news, and read in the papers, and hear on NPR. You have first hand experience, you were in the war. Sadly, what you say seems to have a very real chance of coming true. I just hope it’s not during my lifetime, or my kids, or my grandkids…
