The Cupcakes…an update.

The Cupcakes have been eaten.

They were in fact, brought home for the family. Sent to us by our wonderful friend Chip from her son Parker’s birthday.

They were so good, that I wrote a haiku:

You tasted so good
Oh Cupcake in my kitchen
You were worth the wait

I’d be happy to read any other haikus about cupcakes, or (what the heck) any pastry that you may feel poetic about. Looking forward to it, in fact. Have fun! (remember, 5 syllables, 7 syllables, and 5 syllables).

Yeah…that double major in english is reeeeaaaally paying off now!

  2. You post this climatic post about NOT eating their frosted fluffiness and make us all wonder for like DAYS…
*drags her leg for added effect*
    hehe Thank you…
    Flaky little puffs
Melting in my mouth each day
    Come here my pretty

    • MARVELOUS!
I can’t tell if I’m a little bit disturbed by “Come here my pretty” or not, it’s got a little bit of the “hansel and gretel witch” feel going on, but it’s such a nice contrast to “flaky little puffs!” *grinning, pretending to be a poet critic*
      Awesome!

        • And only posted 1? Come on!
Here, I’ll do a couple to encourage you.
          The excited cupcake haiku:
          Oh My Sweet Jesus
          That friggin cupcake I ate
          Was friggin awesome
          or the goth version:
          oh little cupcake
every part of you is dead
          so I will eat you
          or the surfer:
          totally rad cake
you look awesome in your cup
          totally gnarly

                • Re: A haiku about reticent cupcakes
Okay, here’s how tired I am: I saw your post and immediately started counting syllables going “geez, that’s way too many! What’s she…oh. Dorkboy, it’s real live typing!”
Yeah, in my head there was a whole story with that haiku, where they were just reticent about being eaten. You were persuasive in that it was a “We can do this quick and painless, or I can take my time and make the pain last” kinda thing.

    • Really, we all do that counting thing, so don’t feel silly. Ya big dork. 🙂
I love the repetition of chocolate yum! and “chocolatey gone” is the best, because everybody knows that sad, sad feeling…
      🙂

  3. Not a Haiku
OK, I’m not a fan of haiku, though I do think all of those that were posted are fabulous. However, how can you sum up the yummy goodness of a cupcake in a mere 17 syllables?! Not possible. I have, instead, composed a sonnet:
Oh yummy dessert of sugar and cake
A bite of you, I believe I will take
Your frosting’s melty and a little drips
So not to waste, I lick it from my lips
The first bite was heaven, but what of the next?
Oh it’s just as good, I believe I’ve been hexed.
You sweet little cupcake…I think I’m in love
If one tried to steal you I’d give them a shove
Not many bites left, I have to restrain
You evil cupcake, you cause me weight gain
Wait, no, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean it!!
It’s just you’re so tasty…I need to quit
Oh no, there I go, another bite taken
Did I eat YOUR cupcake? No you must be mistaken…
