Quick thoughts before teaching:

Sunday’s tech went much better than Saturday’s. We had a great, great 1st dress run of the show.

New Green Lantern icon. I Love it.

As of 1:42pm today, still no power at home. Now the fun turns to giant pain in the butt. DTE Energy says they have “no estimate of when repairs will take place”. That’s helpful. Normally these things are a couple of hours and we’re done. Now, however, we have a fridge full of food that will probably need replacing, and our supply of candles and batteries is gonna need replenishing. *sigh*

Have you ever seen Channel 101? It’s a website. Click here to go see it. Lots of funny movies, all made and submitted to the site, where people vote on the best. My friends Mike and Jason have made several that have been accepted to the site. (You occasionally see Mike posting obnoxious things in my ‘comments’ section here – it’s how we bond. He’s a sci-fi geek acting out his fantasies of being an actor in LA.) You can see them in “The Jogger”, “Star Reign” and “Channel 101: The Musical” parts I and II. If you get a minute, check them out. Silly, silly fun. Mostly Jason’s doing. Mike’s a no-talent hack. šŸ™‚

Off to teach, then home. Send candles.

    • Oooh, I hadn’t even thought of that! However, no. For a couple of months I’ve been grabbing cool GL icons whenever I could find them! Cuz, in case ya didn’t know, he’s the coolest superhero around.

    • Re: I want a cool picture too!
They’re known as Userpics, or Icons.
You can probably use a picture you’ve got, you go to your User Info and under “Manage” click on Userpic. Then you have to upload one of your pics to LJ.
However, they have to be a certain size. If you don’t have one the right size, you can screw around with it. OR, you can do a search on LJ for Icons. Lots of people post tons of them for people to use, and you just have to give them credit for the pic. (When you assign it, there’s a ‘comment’ box where you can say “This userpic was made by Stephanopolopy” or whoever made it.
To search for them, on your User Info page, type icons into the search box, then use the dropdown menu to select “interests”, and hit ‘search’. It’ll search for all of the LJ users and communities that have Icons listed as an interest. Then you surf them until you find one you like.
I’m a member of ComicBook Icons, because they’re fun, and so when any other member of ComicBook Icons posts icons they made they show up on my friends list! You can do that with any type of interest you have – search it, find a community or LJUser you like, and add them as a friend. Then their posts show up in your friends page and you can read it and post a reply or not!

  1. See, now this is an interesting Blog! More talk about me and less about you. This is all I ever read “BLah, blah, blah!”. Now it’s “Blah, blah, blah, Mike, Blah, blah”.
    Sincerely,
    Michael Patrick McCafferty
