The last couple of weeks have been Soooooooo busy!
Prepping for a a new show to start rehearsals.
Raking leaves. At our house, this is a huge task. An acre full of giant old trees. Literally DAYS worth of raking and burning.
Replacing an actor – unfortunately John Seibert, a tremendous actor, had to drop out of our upcoming Christmas show for health reasons.
Fortunately, we were able to find another marvelous actor, Chris Korte, to replace him.
Halloween!
Board Meetings.
Seeing Patrick Stewart in a play! (More to come on that, just haven’t had time. He was great!)
Still – this past weekend was our biggest attendance weekend EVER at Williamston Theatre! WhooHoo!
However, now I’ve got 11 more seconds to make an entry before I must run out and vote…and I wanted to encourage everyone else to do the same:
GO VOTE! Whatever your vote of choice is, don’t miss this opportunity to have a say in what happens in our country, in your state!
There…11 seconds are gone. Now I’m going to vote, and prep for rehearsals to begin in less that 10 hours.
Is John OK?
Glad to hear that things are going so well at the theatre.
Hey there! John’s having heart trouble, unfortunately. He’s not in the hospital, but it’s been giving him some reason to worry, and his doctors are doing some testing and it was deemed a wise, necessary precaution for him to take a break. Hoping for positive test results and easy treatments to make things all better…
Oh no…
Well I’m glad he’s taking a break then. Please do keep me informed.
He’s one of my favorite people in the universe.
I thought of you the other day– Rachael Ray was heavily promoting community theatre on “30 Minute Meals” and mentioned The Purple Rose. She was doing a “pre-theatre” 30 minute meal–
“Curtain Call
A quick pre-theater meal thatβll have your guests shouting, “Encore!” Italian Club Finger Sandwich Bites, Show-Stopper Seared Scallops with Lemon-Scented Bread Crumbs, and Fettuccine with Saffron and Asparagus.”
I just looked it up– it’s on again today at 2:30 π
And speaking of Jeff Daniels– go see “Infamous!” Good stuff.
Ooh, I’ll have to see if I can find that. The meal sure sounds great!
How cool that she was actually talking about theatres! Nobody does that on TV anymore! We’re like the betamaxes of live entertainment to so many people in tv/film! Good for her! (I hope she didn’t call the Purple Rose a community theatre on the air though. One of the big challenges facing regional theatres all over the country is that we often have a hard time with a large portion of ticket buyers not knowing why our Professional Theatre is different from a Community Theatre. We have the same questions at Williamston often. Still, any publicity is good publicity, so good for them!)
And I’ve been wanting to see “Infamous”! I’m glad you liked it – I know you’ve got a great eye, and now I’ll HAVE to go see it! π
