Wednesday evenin’

Dear LJ,

So much going on. So little time. Sleepiness is wiping out my thought process, and it’s only 11:15. Got up at 6:30 to take the kids to school, went non-stop until being able to sit and watch LOST with Jeanne.

Okay, that was pretty cool: SPOILERS FOR THE LOST SEASON FINALE

Okay – I knew there was no way they were gonna kill all 3 of those guys. Which, upon hearing the gunshots over the walkie, immediately told me that Charlie was indeed the one going to die. Still, I thought “Okay, if Charlie dies doing what he believes is necessary to save everyone, then…okay.” But…he didn’t. Why didn’t he just, when he saw the grenade, RUN AWAY!? OR once the room is filled, why didn’t he just SWIM OUT THE HOLE?! I mean, okay, maybe he thought he was fulfilling the prophecy, but…come on.

Still – a lot of great stuff. The Bearded Jack scenes took me a while, but just before the last one I figured out that they were from the future. Which really makes me want to watch next season – I can’t wait to see where that goes. Can they go back? What are they Lying about, as Bearded Jack said, and who is “HE’? (From Kate’s “He’ll be wondering where I am” line). Sawyer? Ben? Locke? Will next season be all “Flash forwards”? Or “Rescued, but flashing back to the island”? Hmm…some fun things to ponder!

Also – Hurley and the bus?! Spectacular. Sayid, snapping the guys neck? SPECTACULAR. Sawyer and “That’s for taking the kid off the raft.”?!?! SPEC-FREAKING-TACULAR.

And…Locke? What the heck? Seeing “I’ve gone thru puberty already” Walt? And if he knows why Jack shouldn’t make the phone call, why not just say it?

So – even tho the Charlie death thing annoyed me, I liked the finale a whole lot. I’ll admit it – although there were some times that I thought the writers were complete hacks, this episode made me a “Can’t wait for next season” fan again.

Also, we’re in the middle – well, actually, nearing the end – of planning next season at WT. A couple more details for the schedule of shows, and then we start filling them up with actors and designers and crew. I’ll do a post soon announcing the season, I’m really excited about it.

And…we’re selling tickets fairly well for this final week of our shortened run of Music From A Sparkling Planet. It’s unfortunate that we’re having to close early – which is the polite way of saying it sucks – but we got 6 weeks out of it, and that’ll have to do! Still, frustrating to close a show that got some great reviews, and is getting great response from the audiences who see it. See The Final Review We’re still learning about our audience, though, and growing the audience, and it’ll be a couple of years before we can expect to fill up the place all the time. Until then, we’re going to keep doing everything we can to make Williamston Theatre a full blown success.

More to talk about…Tigers won today, and are doing well…getting ready for our next production at WT…Michigan Theatre Festival coming up in June…trip to NYC and the show I’m directing there…seeing The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee on Broadway while in NYC this weekend (SO GOOD)…maintaining morale when your company has to close a show early…Maggie leaving me HILARIOUS messages on my voice mail…sitting through 20 hours of Audition Monologues on Monday and Tuesday (I enjoyed it, but it does exhaust you a bit)…

Now, though…sleep.
