A cool photo

This is from Ernie, near the end of the play.  I think this is a neat shot.  🙂

The folks he’s addressing are actually the fans at Comerica Park, in the stands for his final speech.
(Awesome video by Alison Dobbins, and lights by Dan Walker)

A Great Review For ERNIE!

We officially Opened Ernie last night at the City Theatre in Detroit!  A big red-carpet opening, it was a ton of fun.  I’m really proud of all the work everyone’s done on the show – it’s been an exciting adventure getting it open, and a real treat to combine my love of theatre and my love of baseball in a piece honoring a truly wonderful human being!

And in our first review, from Encore Michigan, the reviewer John Quinn compares my handling of a baseball play to the way Sparky Anderson handled a baseball team!

Tony Caselli, artistic director of the Williamston Theatre, manages this team with the skill of a Sparky Anderson. The effect is clean, lean and absorbing.

Best.  Compliment.  Ever!  🙂
