  1. Hey! Have you ever lived out of MI? 🙂 For the first 25 years of my life, I had never lived out of NE 😉
    I bet you’d make a great lecturer!
Wow! England! I’ll visit some day! *longing*
WOO HOOO for BSG! Racy little show that it is;)
Loved ALL of your “Things I should be doing”!

    • I’ve never lived out of Michigan for more than a few months, no. I spent a few months in California, working for the California Theater Center. I spent a few weeks in England touring around England, Scotland and Wales with a friend who lived there, so it was very cool! And, of course, I’ve spent a week here and a week there in many states, but I’ve always called Michigan home.
If you get the chance to go to England, you should! A beautiful place, chock full of history. And, for you, a cornucopia of photo op’s!! It’s funny, I remember standing on Hadrian’s Wall, which is the wall that was built to keep the Roman Empire border marked clearly so the “barbarians” in Scotland didn’t cross into the Empire’s territory! I remember thinking “Wow. This wall – these stones – were put here in the year 125ad, or something, by order of the Emperor! This is the oldest historical thing I’ve ever touched!” Which, I think, is still the case. It was pretty awe-inspiring!

      • This is the oldest historical thing I’ve ever touched!
Yea, ok so you can touch Hardians wall but what about Stone Henge. Much older and pretty darn inpressive in its own way.
Some how when Tracey and I were in England we aparently didn’t know about the wall during the trip because we missed it. I’m kind of dispointed about that. Oh well maybe next time. Did I tell you Jane is now living in Canada. At least the last time I heard from her.

        • Re: This is the oldest historical thing I’ve ever touched!
I couldn’t touch Stone Henge! When I was there it was roped off – I could stand about 20 feet away and look, though, and say stuff like “Yep. That’s a big ol’ rock. No question. Those are big. And old. And rocks.” No touching though. It was like early teenage dating – yep, there they are – very nice to look at, but no touching.

  2. now, i don’t know you all that well, tony (more’s the pity), but i hope and pray for all that is good and wholesome in this existence we have, that when you say you watch Battlestar Galactica, you are old school, right? (hold’s breath)

    • If the old one were still on, I would happily watch it in all it’s cheesy campiness. However, it’s not, so I watch the new show with the old name! (Of course, since I don’t get the Sci-Fi channel, my friend Chris tapes Sci-Fi Friday for me, with Stargate, Stargate: Atlantis and BSG!) It would be fun to see some of the oldone again – I watched it a lot as a kid!

      • …all right…due to mitigating circumstances, and the fact that you are sci-fi channel-less…sigh…i guess it just goes back to the whole thing with there being far far too many remakes and not nearly enough original scripts anymore…i shall sit patiently until the wheel comes full round and originality once again reigns…(sits)…

        • While I agree with you on one hand, (too many remakes), I also think that this is somewhat of an exception. It’s not “Dukes of Hazzard” or “Starsky and Hutch” come to the big screen with moronic plot, casting, writing and direction. This is a very inventive, and pretty gripping, re-imagining of a series. Let’s face it, the original was massively cheesy. I mean, fun, but acting, writing, directing, cheesy. The new one takes the idea for the plot of the original and puts some new spins on it, and brings a very dark edge to it. Is it the original? No. But it’s a cool show that, frankly, I enjoy more than the original.
It’s no “Amazing Race” though, I can tell you that right now. 🙂
