Grab-bag o’ stuff…

This is awesome, and I say HAH! to all the people who laugh at my love for Star Trek and science fiction!  William Shatner is awesome.

So, Team USA lost today in the World Baseball Classic.  A neat experiment in broadening the global appeal of baseball, the WBC has been fun to watch.  Unfortunately, the birthplace of baseball just had it’s butt kicked.  Team Mexico knocked us out of the tournament this evening.  Now, I’m just waiting for Tigers Baseball to start!

Williamston Theatre is moving forward, but we’ve hit some building snags that we have to work out.  Our first show may be done with nothing more than some flashlights. And a big black curtain.  Outside.  But it’ll be a good show.  *grin*

Have I mentioned lately the game Kingdom of Loathing?  It’s very fun, and if you’ve got 10 or 15 minutes a week for serious silliness, join in!  (and thanks to Mary919 for getting me hooked!

Can we get permission to do this in LIVE theatres, as well?!

    • Mostly construction code stuff as we change the space from a retail space to a “space of public assembly”. It’s all good, it just takes time and money to sort out!

  1. First off…William Shatner is AMAZING! The dude is 75 years old!!! Huh?? He looks like 60, and moves like 35…wierd! all that space travel must have altered his aging abilities. I saw that How he changed the world thing on the History Channel…It was hilarious!!
Secondly…Williamston will be fine!!! If it’s outside, I voulenteer to hold a really big umbrella over the stage!
And as for the cell phones…That would rock!!!
    Happy St. Patriick’s Day Tony!!!!

    • I love William Shatner! Can’t help it, I just do! He has no problem making fun of himself, and I respect that immensely. He and James Spader are hilarious on “Boston Legal”.
      Happy St. Patricks Day!

      • The funny this is, I was looking at your blog to tell you about the show, and of course, you already know. Secondly, if the movie industry is annoyed by peoples phones, put ushers in the theater and have them REMOVE the offenders as soon as they offend. It’s not just phones. People at theaters are increasingly rude, and basically don’t give a rats butt about other people.
Lastly, I would like to point out that you used the word ‘frelling’ in your blog the other day, and if I remember correctly, thats profanity from Firefly. Is your UberGeek Platinum membership card set on auto-renew or what? Just wondering.
