Thursday afternoon.
Beautiful day. Sun shining, 72 degrees.
I had a ton of work to do, mostly stuff at the computer.
But it was so nice outside, I didn’t want to be cooped up.
So, I went to Starbucks.
Wireless Internet is an amazing technology.
I sat outside of the Starbucks, in the most beautiful day 2006 has shown this part of the world so far. It’s amazing what a beautiful Spring day can do for you after a long gray winter, isn’t it?
I’ve cut way back (for money and diet) but, since I hadn’t had one in over a week, I drank a Decaf Triple Venti Mocha as big as my car. NOTE: I’d like someone to please find a way to make the Starbucks Decaf Triple Venti Mocha cost 39 cents and be healthy for me, please.
I worked on the laptop, sitting outside in the beautiful weather with my mocha, and got a TON of work done; Scheduling stuff, emailing the Playwright about the show I’m directing and getting some positive response to some script changes, etc…
And I listened to the Tigers play a Spring Training game over the internet, with my headphones into the laptop. They lost, but it’s Spring Training, who cares?!
So, to sum up:
Sitting outside in the sun.
Drinking Best Coffee Drink Ever.
Working on several theatre projects at once.
Listening to a Tiger’s game.
A little slice of heaven.
What a difference an hour on the freeway can make!
It’s warm here too, but no sun in Detroit.
Maybe we’ll get some this afternoon.
Sounds like a perfect time.
It really was a pretty perfect time!
(Oh, I was actually about 3 hours away from you at the time, which would probably explain the weather difference, too!)
Sun, Coffee Drinks, Productivity and Tiger’s Baseball…Tony Caselli I think you have just described my perfect day. Sounds Heavenly!
Callie? That be Callie McKee?!?
Yes, It’s Callie….is this Erica Koske???
Of course it is!
Yay! I hope you get a day just as great this weekend! š

Make it at home, costs much less!
Decaf Triple Venti Mocha = Lowfat hersheys chocolate syrup, decaf coffee and steamed lowfat milk.
Coffee brews up pretty much the same as espresso, there are even some “fancy” coffee makers that brew out of the can coffee “frothy” like an espresso shot now. Espresso is just more concentrated(pressed into the espresso machine hopper, super hot water poured on it…concentrated shot.). Same beans, same coffee, same flavor. You can achieve the same taste by grining your beans finer for your coffee pot at home. And, you don’t need one of those “fancy smachncy” steam wands, just stick the milk in the microwave for a few minutes!
Remember, I used to work for the “Starbucks” you speak of, pretty much anything they make and charge 80 bucks a pop, can be doubled at home for less. š
(Oh crap! I should write a book!)
My guilt is the triple venti brevee mint mocha. (Brevee = steamed half and half!) That I haven’t had in about 4 years and I plan on it staying that way!
Mmmmm…I may just have to try that!
