So, in a few hours, our first audience will be in the building. A building that, as of 5:30, is finally about ready for them.
This morning, I was snuggling my son for 10 minutes before I had to drop him off and come to the theatre.
I told him I was sorry for not being home much the last two weeks, but that we were having our first performance tonight at the theatre.
He said “At your new theatre?! That’s so cool Dad!”
I thought that was pretty cool.
Then a little later, when I was dropping him off, we shared a big hug and, as I was leaving, he yelled “I hope your show goes well!”
I was a little surprised by how much that meant. Not sure why, really, but it was pretty wonderful to have him yell that. I’m a lucky guy.
Because you are a parent
and we often seek approval
even from our children
*I* will get to smother my son soon enough
HAH…lucky him!
He’s gettin’ too big to snuggle π
I think you’ve hit it on the head! It was just great to see that he actually thought something I was doing, something that didn’t involve him directly, was cool!
And…I’m DREADING the day they’re too big to snuggle!
YAY!!! I’m so excited for you Tony.
Please give the whole crew my best.
*sending good vibes*
Thanks Kate!
I hope we can get you out here before you go away!
Hope all went well (though I’m absolutely sure it did!)
π You guys rock.
Thanks bunnydin!
It went pretty well! I was very happy. We have polishing to do on the show, of course, but that’s okay cuz we’ve got a week of previews to go!
Hope YOUR rehearsals are going well!
Thank you, they are! Our previews start in two weeks so we’ve still got work to do, but we’ve finished blocking and are into just running the whole show and working notes. π
Hey tony.
Good luck on your opening. This made me think of you…
Mike-
Absolutely.
That absolutely made me think of me as well.
It made me laugh out loud, and think “What the heck is wrong with my friend Mike?”
