Also, in my last post I mentioned some of the Michigan Theatre Awards. Well, for years the “biggest” have been the Detroit Free Press Theatre Awards. Unfortunately, due to cutbacks, they’ve decided to not have a big gala awards ceremony anymore. They did, however, publish the awards in their paper this morning.
The fun news is that Take Me Out, the show that I took over directing last summer, won Best Play and Jim Posante and I won Best Director for that show! Williamston Theatre gets a little mention too, which is nice! Read the article here

And your Bogle won for best feature actor too! Though not as the Bogle, but for Take Me Out. Thats like a Free Press Sweep!

I’m really happy for him, he was great in that show! Ray Schulz was tremendous in his role, too, but didn’t win – too bad. Nice for him to get nominated though!

You know better than anyone that cash has to come before theatre – I have to pay bills somehow. At least it’s still moderately theatre related, and the people I work with are fun.

That’s a great thing, too – the people you work with are fun! There’s nothing worse than working with people you don’t like – too too TOO many hours spent busting your butt with people you don’t want to be with will kill you!!
