Some things that make me happy…

Hanging out with my 6 year-old this morning, just looking at his “cards”. He’s got a collection of cards in a box; baseball, basketball (?!), Magic, Pokemon, Scooby Doo, Yu-gi-oh, cards from movies like Robots or The Incredibles, and some miscellaneous stuff. It started out with “Hey Dad, y’wanna look at my cards with me?” Then we sat for about 1/2 hour and just went thru them, comparing cool pictures, or re-enacting movie scenes from them, just being silly. Best 1/2 hour I’ve spent in a long time.

The Detroit Tigers are 26 games over .500. I mean, c’mon!! How can you not be LOVING IT!? They just swept the St. Louis Cardinals, who are the #1 team in the National League!!

The feeling around Williamston Theatre that things are working! We’ve had some small houses, but people are still coming! The people who come are loving the show! We’ve just gotta keep getting word out, and working to build our audience and get butts in seats, but it’s working!

Speaking of Williamston Theatre – we’re doing a collaboration this winter! Yep – we’re doing a co-production with Meadowbrook Theatre, the biggest theater in the state! They’ve been very supportive in our startup endeavors, and approaced us last week with an idea. We jumped at it – we’re co-producing a Holiday Special called Every Christmas Story Ever Told!!, (yes, the exclamation points are in the title!). It’s an evening of Holiday Hilarity, and we’ll have a 2 week run here and a 2 week run at Meadowbrook. The collaboration will be great, and both companies stand to make a little money, a lot of PR, and audiences and staff will both have a ton of fun with this silly show! Very cool!

Superman Returns comes out this week! As a fan of DC Comics, and all of the Justice League members in particular, I can’t wait to see this new movie! In preparation, we’ve rented the first two Christopher Reeve Superman movies, and are watching them! (This new movie takes place after the 2nd movie, and ignores the horrible 3rd and 4th movies, which were just bad!)

Listening to Wait, Wait…Don’t Tell Me! this weekend was great! It’s been a couple of weeks since I’ve had the time to listen to this spectacular NPR show. If you get a chance, listen to a couple episodes (there’s a link on my LJ, to the right!). It’s just the funniest, most entertaining show ever! And, it’s informative, too!

This weekend, I get to see the Tigers play the Pittsburgh Pirates IN PITTSBURGH! SWEET!

  1. Say Hi to the “Sav-A-Bundle” team while there in Penyslvania.
Oh that was a stupid comment…….*commits harry karry* Wait, that’s not what it’s called. Oh crap….I’ve ruined this comment.
    *Slinks off*

  2. Are you going to the game with Aaron? I know he’s going. I’m so jealous. Actually, everyone in the cast said if they didn’t have an Opening Night of a play to do, that’s where they all would be as well. Have you ever been to Pittsburgh? It’s so beautiful. I miss my home state very much, so would you say hi to it for me? 🙂
