Well, I’m excited to announce that I’ve gotten a nice directing gig.
In early 2007, I will be directing The Mystery Of Irma Vep at the Studio Arena Theatre in Buffalo, New York.
The Artistic Director contacted me last week to ask if I’d be interested in doing it. After a week of discussing schedules and clearing up details, it’s confirmed and I’m able to talk about it! The timing is perfect, it’ll be just shortly after I’ve opened the Winter show at Williamston Theatre, and before rehearsals start for the next show in the WT season, which I’m not directing anyway!
This will be my second time directing a production of this script, and I’m thrilled, because I love it! It’s ridiculously fun.
Plus, this is a great opportunity for me professionally – directing at a very highly regarded regional theatre outside of Michigan will be a marvelous experience.
Of course, it’s a long way off right now. And there’s a ton of work to be done at WT between now and then.
But this will be pretty great!
BUTT! It’s A BUTT!!!
Um…what?
I take it you didn’t see the spoof…
There was that little “scroll”, and a lot of the times there was someone in the audience who would yell “BUTT!” when Lepard and Siebert pointed at it.
AAAAHHHHH. Now I get it! No, I think I missed the spoof on that one.
I forgot about the big butt on the scroll! That was funny.
Crazy, crazy cross-dressers.
I wish I could have worked on that show, it seemed like such a riot!
Tony, that’s sooooo awesome! Congrats! It couldn’t happen to a more deserving guy or a better director.
YAY!
Thanks Kate! I appreciate those kind words.
Can’t wait for your first LJ from the new place!!
Yay congratulations!
I feel like all my comments lately to you have had that word in them. I’m glad things are going so well π
Thanks! And it’s not that everything’s going that well, it’s just that I’m not posting about how much more money we need, and how we keep finding new things that have to be done to the building, and all of the everyday hassle things! π But keep thinking that things are going great, because all that positive energy can’t hurt! π
Way to go! And what a fun show to do it with.
Thank you! And I agree – that show is so much fun, I’m thrilled that I get the chance to play with it again!
Woo-Hoo
That’s great news! Congrats my friend!!!
