Catching up…

I’ve been so busy lately, and it’s been SO HOT (about 100 yesterday), and I’ve just not had that posting bug.

Some quick hits, though…

* We’re in pre-production at Williamston Theatre for Rounding Third. It’s going to be very funny, and very moving! Plus, and I’m very excited about this, this one is a lot more theatrical than the last one. I loved Additional Particulars, but in this one we get to do some of those things that I love about theatre, like move thru time and space, talk to characters who aren’t there, and generally push the audience to use their imaginations and theatrical senses a little more!

* Speaking of Williamston Theatre – next week we get our Theatre Seats. Excellent! No more folding chairs!

* Good Lord it’s been hot. I have a car built in 1907, with no air-conditioning. I had to take an almost 90 minute drive in it yesterday, in 99 degree weather, and even though all the windows were open, I thought I was going to pass out. Rather than being “refreshing” , the wind from going 70 miles an hour was more what you’d call “blisteringly hot”. Of course, that resulted in me feeling icky last night and today.

* Got to go swimming with the family last night, though, which was very fun! My kids inherited their mother’s massive love of the water, and it’s so great to see them having so much fun. I’m not nearly as much of a swimmer, but we had a great time.

* The Detroit Tigers made a great trade – picked up Sean Casey, a great first baseman, to help get through the playoffs (knock on wood, quick!) As of right now they’re 71-35! Go team!

* I still have not won the Michigan Lotto. Clearly the fates are toying with me. Have I not explained to them my financial situation?

* Both Stargate: SG1, and Stargate: Atlantis are back, and thanks to my friend Chris I can see them on tape! Yay!

* Gourmet Garden, the Chinese restaurant on Maple/Miller in Ann Arbor Michigan, has the best Kung Pao chicken and shrimp in the entire world.

  1. Pick a GM, any GM. I will gladly loan you my family discount so you can have air conditioning. Plus it will help me keep my job, which helps your kids get better presents on their B-days and Christmas. See how buying a new car is good for your kids? You don’t want your children to suffer, do you?

  2. SG1 and Atlantis
I thought you had Tevo why is Chris taping these for you? The AC thing is overrated. Consider driving and sweating in the heat a new weight loss plan. You were saying you wanted to get in shape. Don’t people pay a lot of money to sit in saunas and sweat. You’re getting to do it for free while driveing. Your multi tasking. Just kidding. Things are supposed to cool off some this weekend.

I have TiVo, but not the SciFi channel, which my lame-o cable company bundles with a package that would cost me another $12 a month, and I don’t want to pay for! I may, someday soon, try to bump it up, but I’ve gotta get more $ in the bank and in the weekly income before I can do that!
It’s rainy and cool today, thank goodness!

oooh, if you want to pay for MY TiVo subscription, I will record and make you DVD copies of those shows… But you have to buy a GM first.

If I could pay for your TiVo, I’d be able to pay to get the stupid SciFi Channel!
Wow. It just started raining here LIKE MAD! Whoowhee, it’s a flash typhoon.
(I hope it’s not the SciFi Gods punishing me for calling their channel stupid…)

a la carte cable choice, would solve this dilemma for you. Some day, I’m keeping my fingers crossed this will happen.
You know the technology is there. I figure the cable companies would lose to much money from the channels that no one would willing pay for, but make them huge profits. Like the Home shopping network. People watch and buy things because its part of a package. But how many would chose to add that channel if they had to pay for it? I would guess a whole lot less than use it now.
            OK off my soap box.
            Have a good weekend.
