Okay, in a few hours I will be seeing Patrick Stewart in The Tempest. Good ol’ Captain Picard and his Royal Shakespeare Company folks have brought their shenanigans to Ann Arbor, at the University of Michigan. I’m really looking forward to it.

Patrick Stewart in “The Tempest”!? Ah, man, I’m so jealous! 🙂
He was really wonderful! I thought the production itself could’ve been better – there were a handful of things the director chose to do that made me wonder “Why?”, but most of the performances were very moving – Miranda was wonderful, and Ariel, Caliban and the fools were all quite good. Patrick Stewart hit all the right notes, I thought. I’d love to have lunch with him – he seems like such a genuinely nice guy, and would be fascinating to chat with!
And…of course…it was so cool to just see him do a live show!
It was an Engaging performance, and he Made It So.
