So – what to name a family pet? She’s a Cockapoo (cocker spaniel and poodle.) She’ll get between 18 and 20 lbs, and be about knee high. dark brown fur.
We checked a website, and the most common names right now? Max and Maggie. My kids names. I kid you not.
Since we WON’T be using one of those, we’re trying some on for size:
Muggles, Mocha, Sneaker, Emma, Pickles, Pasta, Flash…the list changes every day.

I’m sort of partial to Mocha and Emma. Those are good dog names.
I have Kayla and Hailee. Nala is my cat.
What about Amber? Auby? Erica? 😛
I kinda like Nala, actually!
We had Simba to go along with Nala, you know, the whole “Lion King” thing. But sadly he passed away. 😦
Cockapoos are so cute! My aunt had one throughout my whole childhood which was a grey/blue color, and her name was Blueberry. She turned evil in her old age though. I’m sure that won’t happen to…hmmm…Muggles? I like ’em all except for Emma. You should look at the #1 BABY name right now and name it that! You SHOW them…

I like Mocha, if you wanna go for the color name. My dog is a black and white lab/shepherd mix. We named her Oreo. I was 10. 😉
Cocoa is our neighbors’ dog’s name. She’s a brown Weimeraner.
On the other hand, we also have two black cats – mine’s named Fraser and my sister named hers Shannon. ;-P
Hmmm…Mocha seems to be an early fave with a lot of folks, but I think I want something more fun, a little odd…maybe? My wife and kids will probably outvote me anyway! 🙂

Hmmmmm … sounds like the kids have had plenty of time to use their names. Maybe name the dog Maggie or Max, and rename your kids … to Pickles and Flash. 🙂

I actually tried some of those out, and sadly, most were rejected by my wife since the dog is a girl. We then considered going with female Trek characters: Uhura, Tasha, Crusher. Crusher is the only one of those with a shot, because it would also have the fun dual meaning…
GL has been rejected, but Flash (as my Justice League nomination) is still a possibility… and I was thinking about Shayera, as a nod to HawkGirl, but it’s a little long. *sigh* Ooh…maybe just “Justice”…

I vote for a non-person name. And I still like Esppita. Or just Pita. That’s a good name too. I read a book once where the lady has a cat that was named Theda, (thay-duh) and I always liked that name.
Or in staying with the color theme, there’s Hershey, Poop, Dirt, Senorita Dirtay, Little Brown Dog, Brownie, Chocolate Cake, Tiramisu (only the top of course), Creme Brulee, Dead Leaves, Coffee, Espresso, Triple Thick Chocolate Shake, Ovaltine, Corduroy, Walnut, Tree, Brown Sugar, Raven, Ebony, wait, I’ve drifted into porn names, let me start over…
Please do not forget that “Brick” is taken.
