Every Christmas Story Ever Told!! opened to a sold-out house last night, and got a giant spontaneous standing ovation at the curtain call! The show is a ton of silly, sweet, heartfelt holiday fun, and the whole audience had a good time.
Because it’s only a 2 week run, and a remount from last season, we didn’t invite or expect reviewers, but the very kind Jim Fordyce from Lansing came, and gave us the following “4 out of 4” review on his Michigan Entertainment website:
Last season’s smash hit at the Williamston Theater is back and this year I corrected the oversight I made in 2006 and did not miss it! I was in the opening night audience for a big cup of holiday hilarity. The presentation begins as we get ready to watch the Dickens Classic “A Christmas Carol” and then one cast member balks and we go with the cast on what is billed as an “impromptu romp through the BHCs (Beloved Holiday Classics)! ” Joseph Albright, Aral Gribble and Chris Korte are absolutely delightful as they take us from Frosty the Snowman and a send up of Rudolph to the Peanuts Gang and Its a Wonderful Life. Add in some off beat lessons about Christmas around the World, and some audience participation and you get 2 hours of Holiday Fun that gets the perfect Four out of Fordyce!
Here is the only problem with this show: My most excellent holiday friend Chris P. at the theater told me during intermission even though they have added a show, almost all the performances are sold out. SO,DO NOT WAIT! Click here for the Theater’s Web site and get one of the few remaining seats.

So…yesterday you kinda mentioned that your favorite Christmas song is by PRINCE, and I was so curious that I had to look it up, and the FIRST thing Yahoo! gave me was an article of the top 10 WORST Christmas songs, and your song came in at #2, followed by “Jingle Bells” barked by dogs. This cracked me up! I have the Prince song downloading right now…lol. Oh, and here’s the blurb from the top 10 list:
No. 2 — “Another Lonely Christmas” — In a word, this song by Prince is awful. The concept is good, singing of someone missed during the holidays. But in true Prince fashion, he turns the song sexual, recalling swimming naked in a pool with this woman and also talking about her sister who is all grown up and making the boys swoon. Plus, it’s a ballad, and Prince can’t sing ballads.

BWHAHAHAHA! I love that review! It’s so true, he takes what could be a sweet song and just heads off in a whole different direction! I disagree, though, with the reviewers comment that he can’t do ballads – he has several that are absolutely beautiful! This song, however, would not be considered “beautiful” by most – it’s decidedly ODD!! 🙂 (How many holiday songs include a line like “We drank banana daquiris till we were blind!”?!)

Whoa it is a crazy song! But yeah…is he saying that “Purple Rain” is bad? I’m pretty sure we can consider it a ballad…ah well. Banana daquiris sound yummy! AND they always make me think of Christmastime…haha
