Some things today that really piss me off. No pleasantness here today; adult language, ugly topics behind the links:
Deceitful people. Lying, backstabbing, cheating, philandering, manipulative, deceitful people who think they get away with things because you choose to ignore their infantile lack of emotional maturity. As I said last month, in this very blog, I’m done with the ugly people. That being said, it sure as hell is tough to ignore the continued ass-hattery of people who can’t live their own lives and leave people alone. As my friend Aaron loves to say, “Don’t get me started…” (Well, he actually hates the expression, so I’m sayin’ it for him… )
People who behave as though they’re entitled to everything. At a crowded Starbucks recently, a guy who came in just a couple of beats behind me tried TWICE to step in front of me in the shuffle to get to the counter. The first time, I just cut him off. The second time, I said “Excuse me, I’m next.” which prompted an annoyed sigh as he retreated. THEN, one of the guys behind the counter said “What can I get started for someone?” and the guy (who is still FOUR people away from the friggin counter) shouts out his order and steps through the 3 of us in front of him to drop money into the guys hand. At this point I blurted “HEY! Jerk!” and the two people still in line in front of me also joined in as we snapped at the counter guy to NOT take his money, because he’s NOT NEXT! The guy then gets pissed, “Whatever, fuckheads” he snaps as he grabs his money and leaves. I mean, what the hell? This is acceptable behavior? I don’t care how much of a hurry you’re in – if you don’t have time to stand in line, don’t get in the fucking line. Jesus.
People who hurt kids. This asshole who killed his 8 year old daughter and her friend who has been in the papers the last two days. Maybe she took money from him, as he alleges, and then went for a bike ride with her friend. Maybe, as he alleges, he went looking for her in the park and found her, and she refused to go home with him. Even if those things are true, is the next step in this process to KILL HIS 8 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER AND HER FRIEND?! WHAT THE FUCK?! The couple in the paper a few days before that – the 4 year old girl was misbehaving, so he KICKED HER IN THE HEAD. When she didn’t get up, they left her there for a while, and when she finally died there they cut her head off with hedge clippers and hid the remains. Prison isn’t enough. Execution isn’t enough. These people. These fucking people.

I could not agree with you more. Another one that bothered me was on the news the other night. There was a 4th grade girl who collapsed while running a quarter mile during gym class. None of the staff at the school even attempted to do CPR, they just let her die while they waited for EMS to arrive. Don’t get me wrong, I know there are teachers out there who would go to the ends of the earth for their students, my sister-in-law happens to be one of them. But to me, this was a very obvious case of neglect, carelessness, blatant disregard for human life, whatever you want to call it. You’re telling me the gym teacher doesn’t know CPR? I find that hard to believe. Isn’t it a requirement? And if it’s not, shouldn’t it be? They may not have been able to save that girls life, but it would have been nice if someone had at least given it a shot.
That’s so sad. 4th grade.

Oh yeah, and the guy at Starbucks? He’s obviously way more important than the rest of you in line. You should have let Mr. VIP get in front of everyone so he could get his friggin’ coffee and spend as little time with the common people of the world as possible. Jerk. I want to take people like that, put them all on an island, and watch them irritate the crap out of each other.
The whole thing was so stupid – I mean, it was a line for coffee. But still, it was the principle of the thing. We’re ALL waiting in line. How rude do you have to be to just decide “Well I certainly don’t have to wait here. These lesser beings are obviously meant to, but not I! I’m sure no one will mind if I just push them to the side and take care of my business.” And then, when people complained, he was angry about it! Like it never occurred to him that possibly other people did not want their wait extended by his rudeness!
“WHAT? You tiny morsels are shouting, and waving your tiny fists? What COULD you be chattering about?! Yes, yes, I hear you. Now kindly step aside, for it is the time of MY COFFEE SELECTION! I believe I’ll have one Rudeness Frappuccino, and an Ego Espresso, with a shot of Disrespect. Extra foam, please, to match my extra special lack of social skills! And quickly, little apron person, or I shall refuse to pay you! No questions, now, get to foaming! Obey me, for I am HE WHO MUST BE OBEYED!”
Fortunately, I can now look back on the thing and laugh.
As I read that I was hearing it in the voice of Stewey, the baby from Family Guy.
“Damn You Woman! I’ve been sitting here FOREVER! This hot dog isn’t going to cut itself, you know!”
