An exciting time: inaugurations, births and rehearsals!

I’m excited about this week we’re starting…

Barack Obama will be inaugurated – what a huge event. Whether you voted for him or against him, this historic moment is pretty incredible – I’m thrilled to be around to see it happen.

Slightly less historic, but of a lot of importance to me, are a handful of other things going on this week:

My kids will appear in a production of “The Sneetches” by Dr. Seuss – it’s part of a Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebration. (The Sneetches, of course, is all about equality… in a nice Seussian way!)

Also, Williamston Theatre is in rehearsals for The Effect Of Gamma Rays On Man-In-The-Moon Marigolds, and after seeing the first read-thru last week, I’m incredibly excited about this production!

I’m in rehearsals for Hedda Gabler at M.S.U., and we’re having a great time. Laying down a basecoat with blocking and intent will take us through the end of next week, and then we’ll begin the really fun part of digging deep into what’s going on, and start layering all our colors and nuances over top of the basecoat – so far the cast and production staff have all been fabulous to work with.

Oh, next week I turn 40! Lots of folks keep saying “Ooooh, the big 4-OH!”, but I’m actually really excited about it! I’m hoping it’s the best year yet.

AND – I have a new nephew! Magnus Henry Caselli was born on Tuesday, he was a healthy 20 inches long, and weighed 8lbs, 2 oz. His name, Magnus, is a traditional Scottish name that my brother and his wife really like, and his middle name, Henry, was my Grandfather’s name (on my mom’s side). He’s cute as can be!

So, yeah. A good week to be around. 🙂
